Krista Clarke, MS, RD, LDN

Outpatient Dietitian

(She/Her/Hers)

How would you describe your approach to nutrition counseling?

My approach to nutrition counseling is empathic, holistic, and individualized. I love using Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size® (HAES®) principles while focusing on integrated approaches that account for mind, body, and spirit. My goal is to empower clients by improving their relationships with body and food, and help maximize them with supportive, evidence-based nutrition and holistic wellness implementations.

Which avenues of dietetics do you feel most passionate about pursuing?

I feel most passionate about pursuing disordered eating in conjunction with holistic nutrition. I’m specifically passionate about hormone and gut health, especially since there are such strong correlations between the two and eating disorders. I have dived into these areas of dietetics over the past few years and have been so fascinated by the gut-brain connection and how interconnected it is to overall physical, mental, and emotional well-being. I also have experience working with low-income and rural populations, pregnancy and lactation, pediatric, and sports nutrition. In the future, I plan on pursuing my CEDS (Certified Eating Disorder Specialist) certification!

If you were to have any other profession other than Registered Dietitian, what would it be and why?

I enjoy the spontaneity and excitement of life and dabbling in various things! If it wasn’t for my drive to be a Registered Dietitian from a young age, I don’t think I would have gone to college and I would probably be an entrepreneur of some sort that incorporates creativity, helping others, and using my hands.

Where can we find you when you’re not in client sessions?

When I’m not in client sessions you can find me working on some sort of creative project, walking barefoot in my giant vegetable garden (yes, my feet are always dirty), exploring a new hiking trail, traveling in my groovy ’97 van that I lived in full-time for almost three years, playing with my pets, or hanging out with people I love.
