(She/Her/Hers)
How would you describe your approach to nutrition counseling?
My nutrition counseling approach could be described as open, non-judgmental, and honest. I practice by offering gentle recommendations that are meant to empower the client to make their own choices. I like to have fun in sessions and I often tackle difficult situations with empathy and understanding.
Which avenues of dietetics do you feel most passionate about pursuing?
I’m finding my passions changing as my life circumstances are changing. After becoming a mom, I’m much more interested in pursuing childhood nutrition through the lens of preventing disordered eating and eating disorders by encouraging a good relationship with food in the early years of life. I remain passionate about treating eating disorders in all ages of people but have now added prevention as a passion.
If you were to have any other profession other than Registered Dietitian, what would it be and why?
I’d be a Handyman. I get such satisfaction out of being able to fix small problems around the house or around the office.
Where can we find you when you’re not in client sessions?
You might find me in my own kitchen, cooking or baking. You might find me cheering on the NC State Wolfpack. Or you might find me lounging on my deck or moving at the gym!
